Established brewpub needs a Head Brewer who is capable of all tasks that Head Brewers handle. You will be coming into a situation where you will be expected to hit the ground running. There will be lots to deal with and little time to do it.
Candidate should have 5 years experience in a brewpub setting. Knowledgeable in keeping a brewery clean, free of infected beer, record keeping, TTB and IL taxes, writing SOP's, Barrel Aging, server training, beer dinners, working with beer distributors and much more.
Some things we expect from candidate:
Shift work as well as weekend shifts as required to reach company goals.
Perform all daily duties but not limited to: brew house operations, tank and environmental cleaning, yeast handling, cellar work, etc.
Perform all maintenance tasks to ensure the sound operation of equipment in the brewery, cellar and elsewhere.
Keep accurate inventory of raw materials and chemicals and order from established vendors as needed.
Keep accurate daily production records per company and Federal requirements.
Repeated lifting of 55lb bags as well as squatting, stooping, climbing ladders while carrying up to 11lbs.
Confined space work required as well as knowledge of safety protocols for such work.
Job Requirements:
Formal technical brewing education or equivalent and at least 5 years of Brewpub experience.
Be passionate about craft beer, quality, and innovation.
Barrel Aging knowledge a plus.
Be able to work well both independently and in a team environment
.
Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, be computer literate, and have familiarity with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel).
Production experience and system design experience a plus.
