Assistant Brewer – Fairfield, California
Heretic Brewing Company, an award winning craft beer brewery located in Fairfield California, is currently hiring entry level brewers. We are looking for smart, highly motivated professionals with a passion for craft beer and wanting to be that inspired link between the grain and the glass.
Key Responsibilities
We try to expose our entry level brewers to all of the aspects of brewery operation. You’ll start where your experience shows you should be and you will have the opportunity to move up as you prove yourself. Typical daily tasks include:
• Brewing process steps from milling malt to filling the fermenters to dry hopping
• Packaging beer in kegs or bottles
• Tracking fermentation
• Quality assurance
• Lab work
• Preparing loads for shipment
• Receiving shipments of materials
• Cellar management
• Record keeping
• Brewery tours
• Cleaning (kegs, tanks, floors, walls, and anything else that needs it)
• And more cleaning. If you can’t stand cleaning, this is the wrong job for you.
Qualifications
• 21 or older
• Self-motivated and proactive
• Adaptable and able to efficiently manage time and tasks
• A passion for and knowledge of craft beer
• Previous brewing experience a plus
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills
• A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Compensation based on experience, expect minimum wage if you have not been a professional brewer before
