Production Brewer, (£17 - £20K pa)
Stewart Brewing is a multi-award winning brewery, which has been at the forefront of the Craft brewing revolution in Edinburgh since 2004. In order to cope with our rapid growth, we have recently invested £1.4M in a new building, offices, and state of the art, 50Hl Brewery. The business is increasing in staff count and complexity and has a number of initiatives in addition to the new brew house which include a “craft beer kitchen”, cask and kegging operations upgrades, bottling line installation, Export development, canning and various other projects.
As part of our continued drive to recruit exceptional people, we are looking for a talented and competent Brewer to add to the award winning team, who will play a key role in the growth of this dynamic, vibrant and innovative company over the next 3 – 5 years.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a degree educated brewer, with some experience and a proven track record of success, to make their mark on one of Edinburgh’s most successful stories in recent brewing history, and to help drive Stewart Brewing forward into one of the leading Scottish Brewers.
The Successful Candidate will need to be particularly strong in 2 key areas:
1/ - Technical Competency
A degree in Brewing and Distilling, or similar tertiary education, IOB, or other recognised Brewing qualifications demonstrating a solid understanding of brewing principles, with an interest in continuing professional development. Experience however will be taken into account for candidates with fewer official qualifications.
2/ - Practical Competency
A “can do” person, with a happy demeanour and positive attitude, with the ability to engage and enthuse other staff and customers about our principles and philosophy of making beer of the highest quality. The ability to take initiative, drive projects to completion, overcome obstacles and deliver real progress and results.
Duties will likely include the following:-
• Brewing on our brand new 50Hl brew plant.
• Trial Brewing on 100L Craft Beer Kitchen
• Racking, transferring and preparing beer for cask, keg and bottle.
• Management of the weekend bottling shifts, (6 people)
• Maintaining brewery and hygiene processes to world class brewing standards
Please note that the job will cover (day) shift patterns and will involve regular weekend work.

Reward, remuneration and contract tenure are all negotiable depending upon experience and competency.
