Brewer Position Opening:
33 Acres Brewing Company, located in Vancouver, B.C. Canada, is accepting applications for a brewing position.
We have a two-vessel 20 HL Specific Mechanical brewhouse; 2x20HL, 4x40HL unitank fermenters; a 20HL and 40HL brite tank, and room to expand our tank farm. We currently brew three core brands with a rotating seasonal beer. We provide keg product for our tasting lounge and select restaurant/pubs; and have just started bottling.
Responsibilities:
1) Wort production
2) Monitor fermentation
3) Yeast harvest / management
4) Filtering and Fining
5) Kegging and packaging
6) Brewery sanitation and cleanup
7) Assist in bottling and labelling
7) Helping in other departments, as needed.
Requirements:
1) Brewing Degree or Life Science background / education is preferred.
2) Microbrew or brewpub experience.
3) Work in a safe and sanitary manner
4) Experience in filtering and packaging an asset.
5) Physically fit, as you will need to lift bags of malt, and move kegs, pallets, etc.
6) Flexible work shifts, as there will be days where we will be “all hands are on deck”, so to speak.
7) Any mechanical aptitude is a bonus.
Preference will be given to applicants in the local area.
