11 Below a startup craft brewery in Houston, TX and we’re looking for an experienced brewer to join our team. With an upcoming Q4 launch, we’re interviewing candidates to brew exceptional, high quality beers on our new 30BBL, 3 vessel brewhouse. We’re looking for someone with a passion for craft beer, quality, and the enthusiasm to help bring a new brand to life.
Responsibilities:
• Operating the entire brewing process from grain to package
• Quality assurance throughout the entire brewing process including associated lab work
• Cleaning and sanitizing all equipment in the brewery
• Yeast management
• Recipe development
• Troubleshooting and preventative maintenance
• Management of raw materials and brewing supplies
• Production scheduling
• Representing the brewery at various festivals and promotional events
Requirements:
• Minimum of 5 years of brewing and cellar experience in a craft brewery
• Experience using 15BBL systems or larger
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
• Passionate about quality and cleanliness
• Highly motivated and work with minimal supervision
• Ability to wear multiple hats on any given day and remain cool under pressure
• Technical knowledge of all aspects of the brewing process
• Mechanically inclined and able to troubleshoot equipment issues
• Start-up experience a plus
• Accredited brewing degree a plus
• Flexibility with work hours and availability
• Ability to lift heavy objects repeatedly and safely
