OVERVIEW:
The ideal candidate will support and manage the company finances by overseeing financial processes and software, developing standards, performing internal audits, managing corporate accounting & finance, developing & tracking budgets, providing data analysis, monitoring financial performance, structural integrity & accountability. The Controller will support the CFO in maximizing return on assets by establishing financial policies, procedures, controls and reporting systems and analyzing returns on investments. The Controller must retain a drive for continuous improvement, professional development, and work tirelessly to ensure the accuracy of past and present data, while cultivating that same drive in the team they supervise
RESPONSIBILITIES:
General administrative and financial control duties
• Prepares and presents monthly manager budget vs actuals reporting
• Provide information to banking partners, accountants, external auditors as directed
• Protect operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential
• Oversees and reconciles GL and investigates irregularities/inconsistencies with financial accounts.
• Creates and monitors a system of financial controls, and manages company cash, credit accounts, cash flow, forecasting, and budgets.
• Communicates with vendors and internal staff to ensure accuracy of order reconciliation and inventory counts.
• Works with the President and CFO to develop budgets for departments in the organization. Monitors budget usage and ensures critical costs are covered.
• Carries out any other responsibilities as assigned by the CFO.
• Directly supervises the accounting staff under the direction of the CFO. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
• Cash flow management & projections
• Schedule expenditures, analyzing variances & initiate corrective actions to maintain budgets
• Income tax planning & preparation coordination
• Vendor cost management including quality & price shopping
• Contracts management relative to terms, pricing and budget
• Work with department managers to prepare, maintain & report on annual rolling budget
• Achieves budget objectives by scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, initiating corrective actions
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field, and five to seven years of management level accounting experience, or a combination of education and experience required.
• Advanced knowledge of Excel and ERP systems. Experience with Deacom strongly preferred. Please note your experience with ERP implementation and managing in your cover letter.
• Good understanding of general financial accounting principles, financial statement preparation and analytic reporting experience.
• Direct experience with cost accounting, fixed asset management software, and internal tax compliance worksheet preparation a plus.
• Demonstrated leadership ability, team management, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently, multi-task capability with project orientation.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Passion for craft beer is preferred.
