    Oak Highlands Brewery (OHB) in Dallas, Texas is hiring a Head Brewer. OHB is a start-up production brewery currently under construction and projected to begin brewing operations early second quarter 2015. OHB will operate a new 3 vessel, 30 BBL brewhouse and a tap room out of its 16,200-sf facility in Northeast Dallas.

    OHB is looking for an experienced professional to join our team and manage all facets of the brewing process from grain to glass. We are seeking a passionate, hardworking individual who is tech savvy, creative and dedicated to making the highest quality beer around.

    Requirements, Duties, and Responsibilities:

    • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a head or assistant brewer at a production brewery or high volume brew pub with knowledge of all aspects of beer production (recipe formulation, raw materials procurement/handling, milling, wort production, racking, fining, yeast propagation and management, fermentation, cellar operations, packaging, CIP, sanitation procedures, general brewery cleanliness, laboratory procedures, etc.)
    • A degree from an accredited brewing school is preferred, but not required.
    • Ability to work well in team settings and independently.
    • Experience in brewing lab settings strongly preferred, but must have experience with brewing analytical instrumentation and understand/possess ability to perform basic brewing calculations.
    • Dedicated to quality and safety.
    • Must be able to stand long hours and repetitively lift 55 pounds to a height of 5 feet and move 165 pounds.
    •A mechanical aptitude with trouble shooting and problem solving abilities.
    •Must be flexible with the work schedule, and be an ambassador for OHB at the brewery, private events, and festivals.

    Compensation will be very competitive based on experience and aptitude, with the ability to acquire equity in the brewery over time. As OHB grows, so will our Head Brewer’s compensation.
