Fully funded production brewery in Columbia, MD is searching for a creative head brewer to help us make our mark on the local market. Our concept is heavy on both IPAs (think west coast brewpub) as well as food centric beers and category-of-one creations (think Funky Buddha). Production on the 20bbl system will be for our core portfolio but we always want a handful of pilot and one-off batches being served up in the taproom.
We are about to enter the buildout phase and want to bring on the lead brewer early to customize the system to their liking as well as guide the various decisions that will arise as we build. Position would be as consultant/recipe development (probably not full-time work) but that would change as we get closer to opening our doors.
Industry experience as a head brewer will be important - this is a covenant in our loan that we must follow.
If you do not meet that requirement but are still interested, perhaps our assistant brewer position would fit the bill!
