    Assistant Brewer Position 2015

    To Those Interested,
Fossil Cove Brewing Co. in Fayetteville, AR is currently seeking to fill an Assistant Brewer position. We are a quickly growing local Microbrewery that has been operating for 3 years. We began production in June of 2012 and have experienced a tremendous amount of growth. We are currently on track to produce 2000 bbl this year, and began canning our two flagship beers last month! We are also in the beginning stages of planning and building a new production facility down the street, slated for completion in the Spring/Summer of 2016!

Fayetteville is a very unique area within Northwest Arkansas. It is home to the University of Arkansas as well as a very highly supported local business community. Over the past 5 years Fayetteville has begun to make a name for itself by creating and fostering a “funky” culture centered around the arts, local business, and outdoor activities. The Boston Mountains are a short drive away and offer virtually limitless opportunities for the outdoors enthusiast, including stellar rock climbing, several well known paddling rivers, hiking, and backpacking. The area is also home base for many well known corporations including Wal-Mart, Tyson, and JB Hunt.

Fossil Cove is located almost dead center of Fayetteville. We are one mile north of the University of Arkansas and only a few hundred yards off of the Razorback Greenway, a bike path that stretches from Fayetteville in the South to Bella Vista in the North, over 30 miles! We also have a busy tasting room located at the brewery that sees a large amount of foot traffic and is a great place to meet people and immerse yourself in the Fayetteville culture.

So. Down to brass tacks. Ideally the job will begin as soon as possible. We will be flexible depending on the requirements of the ideal candidate. Pay will be dependent upon experience.

Requirements of the position will include:
    • Maintaining our reputation for creating a high quality, consistent product!
    • Brewing and all related operations
    • Cellaring and all related operations including filtering, dry-hopping, and clarification.
    • Any and all necessary cleaning duties
    • Establishing our lab and necessary SOP’s
    • All necessary packaging operations
    • Lifting in excess of 55 lbs.
    • Working special events when extra help is needed
    • And more….!!!

The crew here at The Cove are energetic and we like to have a good time with what we do. A love for craft beer and everything it entails is a must for any candidate we consider. The brewing culture in Arkansas is still in its infancy and currently, while we aren’t the largest producer, we have been gaining a reputation for having the highest quality beer and wish to continue fostering that reputation while at the same time growing organically and responsibly.
Any interested parties please contact me directly. Also feel free to check out our Facebook, Instagram, and website. I am including a few links as well that highlight craft brewing in Arkansas. I hope to hear from you soon!!

    Sincerely,
    Benjamin Mills

Shelves are crowded with brands competing for our drinking dollar. How will the local guys maintain their momentum?

The "Ozark Sours" series will include limited release batches of sour beers brewed with local ingredients and aged predominately on native Ozark wood species.
