    Production Brewer

    Magic Rock Brewing is expanding, and part of this growth means bringing on new expertise to help ensure a smooth transition into our new facility and increasing the capacity of our production. As ever, our focus is on robust quality assurance and quality control procedures that will ensure that Magic Rock beers continue to be the best they can be, and that we continue to exemplify a culture of quality, creativity and improvement.

    We are looking for a production brewer who is as passionate about our beer as we are, and has a strong track-record of promoting quality assurance, production efficiency, and a positive work environment on the floor. Your day-to-day duties will include taking samples for analysis, preparing ingredients for the brew, operating the brewhouse to produce wort, checking and managing the fermentation tanks to ensure perfect quality and timely fermentations, preparing beer for packaging and transfer, packaging beer into kegs and casks and operating our canning machine. The ideal candidate will have enough experience to be able to jump in and adjust to our process quickly.

    Requirements:

    A degree in a biological or chemical science, and at least 1 year experience working in a brewing position at a craft brewery, OR more than 2 years of working in a mid-to-high level brewing role in a craft brewery.

    Excellent knowledge and implementation of hygienic process.

    Familiarity with and ability to operate semi-automated and manual Brewhouse and Cellar systems.

    Excellent data collection and curation.

    Experience in managing stock and ordering materials.

    Demonstrated excellence at quality assurance and control.

    Demonstrated understanding & successful management of all aspects of the brewing process.

    The ideal candidate will also possess relevant brewing certifications from internationally recognized groups in the industry, such as Heriot-Watt University’s ICBD, IBD, Siebel, VLB, or UC Davis as well as certifications in relevant chemical handling and equipment operation.
