Coney Island Brewery, in South Brooklyn, NY, is opening up a Brewing Intern position at our flagship brewery right off the Coney Island Boardwalk. THIS IS A PAID FULL TIME POSITION! This small brewery acts as the research and development arm for all of the Coney Island brands. We currently brew one to two days per week, and develop about 30 new beers per year, while producing our core brands as well. The heart of the brewery is a new 2-vessel 10bbl JVNW brewhouse, feeding a small on-site tasting room as well as local craft NY accounts. We are only a short 5 minute walk from the Coney Island-Stillwell F,D,N,Q station.
If you’re new to the brewing industry and looking to get your foot in the door as a professional brewer (while also getting paid), this position is perfect for you. As a Brewing Intern, your role will begin with a focus primarily on cleaning, sanitation, quality control, and sampling, then progress into working side by side with our head brewer in all roles of the brewing process, including recipe development.
The internship is 4 months long with an anticipated start date of November 30th. All candidates must fulfill the following requirements:
- Basic understanding of the brewing process.
- Homebrewing experience or recent brewing program graduate
- Ability to repeatedly lift 55lbs.
- Physically fit to work in a brewery production setting.
- Ability to work independently and multitask.
- Willingness to learn.
