Invictus Brewing Co. is looking for an experienced passionate Brewmaster to get this new brewery off the ground.
Invictus Brewing Co. will be a production brewery (distribution) and taproom located in Blaine, MN just 30 minutes north of Minneapolis. Blaine is home to approximately 60,000 people and is one of the fastest growing communities in the state. It is home to the National Sports Center (NSC), one of the largest athletic complexes in the country. The brewery will be located within a short walking distance to the NSC. In the immediate surrounding area of the brewery are nearly 50 outdoor soccer fields, 4 indoor fields, 4 baseball/softball fields 8 indoor hockey rinks, 2 golf courses, an outdoor soccer stadium and an expo/event center. It is estimated that more than 4 million people attend events at the NSC and surrounding athletic facilities each year. Many of these people are potential guests in the brewery as are locals and people who view craft beer taprooms as a destination in and of itself.
The brewery will be a ground-up build. Construction is expected to start in early May 2016 and the brewery is slated to open in November 2016. Our taproom will be sports themed and will consist of a 2 vessel 30 BBL brew house and be able to produce 3,000 BBLs annually with the facility designed for easy and rapid expansion. We will have an onsite taproom, restaurant with a limited menu (contracted food service), space for outdoor activities, space for indoor entertainment, solar panels on the roof to promote environmentally friendly business practices, a 50 person meeting room and an outdoor patio. We are looking for a professional brewer that will bring experience, creativity, passion for community and craft beer and leadership to our brewing operations.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 3 years professional brewing experience or the equivalent education
• A passion for producing great craft beer
• Community-oriented mindset
• Ability to develop creative and unique recipes for a diverse range of beer styles for the taproom and distribution.
• Ability to contribute to the planning and design of the brewery
• Ability to accurately track inventory, continuously improve efficiencies and maintain compliance with all company policies and regulations
• Ability and willingness to educate staff (beertenders, servers, production, cellar, etc.) on beer styles and craft beer culture
• Attention to cleanliness and sanitation
• Ability and willingness to work nights and weekends at least once or twice a week (occasionally more during peak periods)
• Friendly personality and attention to customer service.
This position would not start until the fall of 2016, but to ensure a smooth and gradual transition period from your current employer (if any) and to allow you to provide input on the design, we are looking to select the individual for the position in the first couple months of 2016.
Compensation will include a competitive salary based on qualifications, medical/dental insurance, 401(k) with the potential for profit sharing, ST/LT disability insurance.
