Accounting Manager/ Restaurant Controller

Job Summary
The Blue Moon Brewing Company (BMBC) Business Manager is responsible for overseeing daily accounting inputs, developing ordering and invoicing processes, and monitoring daily cash and credit card transactions. The Controller works closely with the General Manager and Brew Master to ensure proper procurement processes and budget management practices. The Business Manager is also accountable for inventory management, and pricing strategy. She/he closely monitors all food, beer, and merchandise margins, as well as payroll expenses. The Controller works closely with MillerCoors Finance and Accounting teams to prepare and analyze monthly financial statements.
Job Description
Accounting (payables/receivables)
•Check in and process receivables
•Ensure all vendor payments follows MillerCoors policy
•Balance monthly books for BMBC total P&L
•Partner with ISC /Head brewmaster to ensure P&L includes brewing operations
•Ensure compliance with MillerCoors procurement policy
Budget Management
•Monitor monthly marketing spend working with the marketing and events manager
•Work with executive chef to ensure compliance to budget for all kitchen spend including ingredient purchases
•Ensure beer, food and labor costs remain on budget
•Support GM with data and analytics to track ROI on marketing, kitchen and bar spend
•Asses current spend vs. budget and identify any risk and/or opportunity area.
•Work with Brewmaster and Executive Chef to identify quality ingredients and supplies at the best prices
Inventory Management
•Partner with functions understand inventory needs in order to run the business
•Maintain proper inventory levels in both the front of house and back of house
•Match sales to inventory levels all functions
•Track inventory movement to identify top-sellers and slow-movers provides GM with insight to increase profitability
Payroll Management
•Submit weekly employee hours worked to MillerCoors corporate offices
•Liaison to benefits department and staff
•Monitor F/T vs P/T hours worked to ensure compliance with MillerCoors, State and Federal regulations
Financial Reporting
•Maintain general ledgers
•Prepare monthly statements
•Identify areas for growth and profitability
•Identify areas of concern regarding monthly spend
Preferred Qualifications Requirements
Education and experience
•Bachelors’ degree, advanced degree preferred
•Minimum 5 years Controller experience (or similar financial/accounting background)
•SAP Experience
•Degree in business, finance, or accounting preferred
•Experience in the food, food, wine, or spirit industry preferred
Skills and knowledge
•Proficient analyzing P&L statements
•Ability to maintain general ledgers
•Proficient with accounts payable and receivable
•Deep knowledge of brewing and/or restaurant industry preferred
Other requirements
•Strong multi-tasking skills, and ability to create standard operating procedures
