Position: Assistant Cidermaker/Production Assistant
Status: Part - Time
Location: Indianapolis, IN
Description – Ash & Elm Cider Co. is seeking a part-time Production Assistant for our cidery. The Production Assistant would work with the head Cidermaker to create quality ciders, managing the production process from start to finish. The Production Assistant would also work closely with the CEO to ensure production meets sales forecasts.
Responsibilities
Required Experience – The ideal candidate for Production Assistant will have at least 1 year of experience working in production at a brewery/winery/cidery. Experience with inventory management, logistics, and/or manufacturing industries is strongly encouraged. Forklift experience recommended. Good communication skills and a willingness to work with others is key. Interest in being a part of a small-business is also a requirement of the job.

Responsibilities
- Monitor and log daily measurements on in-progress products.
- Follow the cider-maker’s instructions on the production cycle of a batch of cider, including the following:
- Preparing and pitching yeast
- Cleaning and sanitizing fermentation vessels
- Filtering and finishing ciders
- Packaging finished ciders
- Keg washing and filling
- Inventory management
- Receiving shipments
- Creating and maintaining a system to track production schedule
- Creating and maintaining a system to track recipes and procure formula approvals, as needed
- Maintaining the cleanliness of the production space
