HEAD BREWER
MISSION: The Mission of Blue Blood Brewing Company is to provide a great tasting beer in the tradition of hard working Americans who work hard, play hard, and take care of their families and communities.
POSITION SUMMARY:
As the Head Brewer, the Brewer is responsible for maintaining production of all beers brewed at Blue Blood Brewing. Under specific recipe guidance, the Brewer is responsible for all areas of production including brewing, fermentation, filtration, and maintaining brewing records. Brewer creates and tests new styles and brands. Brewer assists with cellar duties when needed. The Brewer is always an ambassador for the Blue Blood brand.
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR:
President
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Qualifications: Two years’ experience working in a professional brewery. Post-secondary education regarding brewery operations. Ability to lift sixty pounds.
Desired Qualifications: Three years’ experience in beer production in a professional brewery. One year experience in production management.
Exempt Status: Exempt
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
The Brewer is responsible for maintaining all brewing functions that include, but are not limited to:
BREWING
1. Brews high quality beer.
2. Schedules brewery production.
3. Maintains brew house sanitation to include tank and environmental cleaning.
4. Works with Head Brewer to create and test new beer styles and brands. Note: All brands created while employed at Blue Blood are the property of Blue Blood Brewery.
5. Maintains brewery equipment.
6. Maintains accurate records of beer production.
7. Monitors and maintains adequate brewery supply inventory.
8. Trains Assistant Brewers.
9. Serves as a liaison for Blue Blood Beer.
10. Other duties as assigned.
OTHER DUTIES
1. When needed, assists with packaging.
2. As needed, gives tours of the Brew House.
3. Serves as a liaison for Blue Blood Beer at special events (beer festivals, promotional events).
