Kilted Kinsmen Brewing Company is seeking a qualified Head Brewer to work closely with the owners and join our team on our journey as we open our new brewery in Connecticut. We are interested in a candidate with a combination of experience, determination, and most importantly, attitude. If you have a “problems are the speed bumps to solutions” attitude, then we want to speak with you. We plan to grow rapidly, so those with experience with brewing during growth cycles are encouraged to apply.

Our new brewery will be a 7 BBL brew system with 15 BBL fermenters which will also include
barrel aging, canning, kegging, pub brewing operations and full-scale production operations. We are CT’s newest brewery slated to open in the summer of 2016 with a focus on providing outstanding handcrafted beer to our local community. You will be asked to act as a bartender and public relations liaison on occasion. Experience and knowledge in distilling spirits and mead is a plus.

You should be comfortable working independently and in a team setting and be ready to wear multiple “hats” as the need arises. You should be energetic, passionate, well-rounded, kind and trustworthy. We are a family run brewery, and thus, we want you to be part of that family as well.

Part of your job will entail training others as needed on the equipment so we can form a well-rounded team around you so that the brewery can function seamlessly while you not on site. Please be comfortable with providing detailed training and answering questions for staff and our awesome customers.

Additional duties and skills required: “Whatever it takes” attitude, detailed record keeping, varied shifts and hours as needed, repeated lifting of heavy items overhead, standing for extended periods of time, CIP sanitation methods, fermentation and yeast management, brewery software programs, computer skills, quick reactionary skills, mechanical and engineering knowledge, troubleshooting equipment as needed, cellar knowledge, shipping and receiving knowledge, attend tastings and festivals, clean beer lines, kegging, bottling, clear communication verbally and written, and all other duties associated with a brewery’s functions.
