Background and Job Description:
If you are hungry to be involved in shaping something new, this is it! Longtab Brewing is a startup looking for an energetic, experienced Head Brewer to help with getting things going from the start. Longtab is a company that is committed to creating a body of high quality, classic American made beers with 100% American-grown ingredients, some Organic, and is committed to giving back to the Veteran community. The planned opening is on track for mid 2017.
Personal and professional vetting is a must. Candidate must be prepared to provide references who can endorse your skills and professional demeanor. Only team players need apply. Candidate must be comfortable working in a pro American and very patriotic work environment.
The ideal candidate is well rounded in all facets of the brewing and packaging process, and possess strong (yet humble) leadership skills. Military Veterans, especially those from the Special Operations community, is a plus but not required. Most importantly, the candidate must have an unwavering passion for craft beer, and a passion for the art of brewing.

Key Responsibilities and Requirements include but are not limited to:
Brewing, Production, and Packaging
Min 2 Years of Head Brewer experience, but willing to consider a very strong recommendation from another industry leader.
Oversee all phases of the brewing cycle of a 15bbl system to ensure supply meets demand
Operate, maintain, clean, and sanitize all equipment, tanks and work areas to maintain consistent beer quality
Maintain acceptable inventory of raw materials and beer
Receive and process raw materials, gather and weigh hops and malts and stage brewing ingredients to keep production running smooth and all beers at optimal quality level
Operate a canning or bottling line, and fill kegs as required
Assist in packaging of beer in kegs, cans, bottles, cases, etc
Troubleshoot mechanical problems as they arise during a job
Operate company vehicle and fork lift safely and efficiently
Must be able to lift 55lb bags and transport full kegs
Assist in truck loading and unloading

Communicates directly with the Sales and Distribution Associate on brewing schedule and product availability
Train and Manage assistant brewers
Participate in customer relations, beerfest events, tours, and marketing as required (may include nights and weekends)
Train other staff in beer knowledge
Work with consultants on process and product improvement

Reporting, Legal, and Other
Report directly to the owner; supports the vision, mission, and philosophy of the company
Assist the owner with maintaining accurate and timely state and federal compliance, inventory, brew sheet and accounting paperwork
Assist the owner in recipe development
Assist the owner in selecting qualified candidates for assistant brewers and other positions
Assist the owner with written SOPs
Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
Perform any other duty as required to ensure the successful operation of the brewery
