At Urban Artifact in Cincinnati we are currently in the process of taking applications for a new brewer/cellarperson slated to start this upcoming December.

Brewer/Cellarperson:
We are a brewery focusing on wild and sour beers with an emphasis on flavor and balance in all our beers. Our brewing philosophy is technical and scientific focused with an emphasis on microbiology. Our brewer/cellarperson will join our small brewing team and be responsible for the production, quality control, and packaging of world class beer.
Required Qualifications:
• High school Diploma or Equivalent GED
• At least 21 years of age
• 1-3 years of professional job experience
• Able to lift 50 (potentially 100) pounds at a time
• Non-smoker, non-chewing tobacco user (this kills the sense of smell and taste - sort of defeats what we are trying to do)
• Ability to perform in hot conditions with various chemicals
• Willingness to clean, clean and clean some more
• Affinity for sour beers
• Obsession with beer education
• Mechanical aptitude
• Basic computer skills (MS Office proficiency)
• Strong Math skills
• Ability to travel up to 10 percent to events, tastings, bars and retailers
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent brewing degree/experience
• Brewing/Chemical/Food/Manufacturing experience
• Knowledge of GMPs
• Comfortable with Public Speaking
Responsibilities/Duties
• Washing, sanitizing and filling kegs
• Assisting in canning and bottling operations
• Cellaring duties
• General brew-house operations
• Cleaning
• Quality assurance functions
• Represent company at public events
• Assist in new product development
• Give tours of the brewing facility
• Inventory management of raw and finished goods
