Castle Danger Brewery is a 30 barrel packaging brewery in Two Harbors, MN. We are seeking a Head Brewer to add to our production team and are seeking passionate candidates with initiative, creativity and adaptability. CDB is a family owned and operated brewery that is team oriented, has a learning/adaptive approach to brewing, and are willing to make consumer centric decisions when it comes to overall beer quality.
The Head Brewer will ensure a variety of production tasks to maintain consistent high quality Castle Danger beers are produced including: completing a variety of brewing calculations, following and establishing SOPs, yeast handling including pitching, cropping yeast, fermentation monitoring and thorough record keeping. Must be willing to adhere to the processes that are in place to ensure consistency throughout our brewing team. Must be a great communicator between all areas of the brewery (i.e. Production, Packaging, Lab, and Taproom).
Requirements: high school diploma or equivalent, formal education in brewing strongly preferred, 21 years of age or older, minimum of two years production brewery experience, strong knowledge of CIP and sanitizing principles, strong communication skills, attention to detail, ability to multi-task, ability to operate a forklift (will train) and the flexibility to work a variety of hours as production operation expands. Additionally, must be able to stand/walk during entire shift, team lift up to 170 lbs and reach, bend, stoop, crawl, push, pull, wrangle hoses and repeat many times during the shift.
