We are looking for a new innovative brewer to join our production team!
The Flying Monkeys Craft Brewery leads the Craft Beer Revolution in Ontario. Brewing radical Beers and creative Ales right on the waterfront in downtown Barrie since 2004. In our 35HL brewhouse we brew 2 times a day, 5 days a week (or more!) along with filtering and pilot brews.
We are currently in the market for a new assistant brewer which would include daily tasks of, but not limited to:
• Brewhouse Operations (all aspects of beer and wort production), including CIP, Brewing, Tank and Yeast preparation.
• Filtration (includes tank cleaning, sanitation, candle filter preparation and setup).
• Monitoring of fermentation & other cellaring duties (includes checking gravities, cropping of yeast, dry-hopping, etc).
• Cleaning and Sanitation practices throughout Brewhouse (lots of scrubbing).
• Work closely with brewing team to achieve desired quality and production targets.
• Work with, and in, other departments throughout the brewery.
• Provide input, ideas and concepts that contribute towards new beers, through tasting sessions and in our pilot brewery.
Position Requirements:
• High school diploma/GED preferred.
• Possess a degree or diploma in Brewing, or, Prior experience in brewing, filtration and fermentation, an asset.
• Demonstrate a positive team player demeanor with a great attitude.
• Ability to multi-task, work in a fast paced environment and is detail oriented.
• Physically fit and willing to work hard.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Superior work organization and time management skills.
• Must be able to work flexible shifts with varying hours.
• Bring creative thinking, innovation and problem solving skills.
• Take pride in the brewhouse and be able to keep it in a tour ready state, by diligently focusing on cleaning, each and every day.
