Wallenpaupack Brewing Company is hiring a Brewer or Assistant Brewer to work along side an existing brew crew. We have a 3 vessel 20 BBL semi-automated brewhouse, 3000 BBL cellar capacity, a barrel program, 2 foeders, a pilot system, and frequent mobile canning.
Optional but preferred qualities:
• 1 year of experience in a brewery environment; packaging, brewing, lab, etc
• Formal brewing education
• Beer serving and customer service experience
• Knowledge of beer styles and sensory
Required Skills and abilities :
• Ability to support day-to-day activities necessary in wort and beer production.
• Be able to lift 55lbs+ repeatedly.
• Be able to work on your feet for prolonged amounts of time.
• Have an understanding of safe work practices and the use of PPE.
• Maintain a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed.
• Ability to accurately keep records.
• Ability to follow standard brewery operating procedures.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Self-motivated with good time-management skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Google Docs, and technology.
• Ability to maintain a clean and organized work space.
Tasks including but not limited to:
• Assisting on brew days (Handling grain, weighing hops, recording data, learning the brewing process)
• Keg filling and cleaning
• Tank CIP's
• Cleaning of all brewery surfaces and equipment
• Data entry and recording
• Giving brewery tours and working brewery events
Hourly Pay: DOE
