Roughtail Brewing Company is seeking a full time production brewer to join our team in Oklahoma City. We specialize in modern IPA styles and are looking for a brewer who loves hops but also has a passion for a diverse range of beer styles.
Our brewery currently distributes in Oklahoma, Kansas and Texas and we are growing rapidly. We need a brewer who can help us push our existing facility to the limit, as well as be a part of commissioning our new production facility in 2019.
This job requires you to do the following:
- Work flexible hours including early mornings, afternoons and evenings
- Lift 55 lbs to shoulder height repeatedly
- Maneuver 180 lbs repeatedly
- Work on your feet for the entire duration of an 8 hour shift
- Climb, bend, stoop, reach, twist and otherwise maneuver in tight spaces in the brewery
- Communicate effectively with other team members both verbally and in writing
- Follow SOPs and execute recipes to spec
- Perform all operations associated with wort production on our very manual 10bbl brewhouse from raw material handling through to cold wort transfer to FVs with minimal or no supervision
- Perform cellar work such as dry hopping, yeast transfers, temperature adjustments, CIP, etc
- Keep detailed written logs of all work performed
- Work in an environment that is often hot, wet, loud, humid, and/or cold
We are looking to add someone to the team who:
- Has a positive attitude!
- Possesses a keen understanding of the brewing process
- Has at least 1 year experience working in a craft brewery (applicants with extensive home brewing experience may also be considered)
- Can operate a forklift
- Isn’t shy about picking the music
- Has a high degree of mechanical aptitude and understanding
Our brewers currently work in two shifts producing just shy of 5,000 bbl annually and we are poised for a major expansion.
