Hi-Wire Brewing in Asheville NC is Hiring for a Second Shift Production Brewer
Hi-Wire Brewing is an award-winning brewery located in Asheville, NC that specializes in approachable and balanced lagers and ales. We operate a 4 vessel 30-bbl automated Prospero brewhouse, and currently produce 90-120 bbls of wort 5 days a week. This position is full time and will consist of operating the 2pm to 10pm brew shift as well as CIPs, paperwork, and inventory responsibilities. We require a high degree of attention to detail as this is a fast paced department where there is no room for cutting corners, as well as the ability to work both with the team and on your own.
Functions and Responsibilites
• All brewhouse operations from milling to Knock out
• CIP brewhouse according to established SOPs
• Monitor various parameters of the brew with simultaneous operations occurring for different turns and brews
• Perform data entry for brews into our Brewery Management Software as well as completing paperwork
• General cleanliness of the Brew house and its related inventory storage areas
• Demonstrate basic understanding of systems and components of the Brewhouse to work through problems that arise during the brew shift
• Flexibility to assist other departments if you are not required on the brew deck.
Requirements and Skills
• Knowledge of Brewing Science
• Minimum 1 year experience in wort production with a production scale brewery
• Basic knowledge of electrical, steam, and pneumatic systems
• Knowledge of Food safety regulations and GMPs
• Experience safely working with hazardous chemicals
• A positive attitude, attention to detail, and strong work ethic
• Ability to accept constructive criticism
• The ability to repeatedly lift 55 lbs and move 165 lbs
