Position Title: Assistant Brewer
Reports to: Head Brewer & Upper Management
Summary: Balter Beer Works is seeking an experienced brewer who is willing to work hard and help support the continued growth of the company. Balter is a 7-barrel brewhouse that is apart of an full service, made from scratch kitchen.
Basic Duties and Responsibilities
• Adhere to all safety procedures
• Maintain a clean and safe work space
• Diligence in record keeping and documentation
• Tap line maintenance and problem solving issues
• Tracking batch data with QC/QA analytics
• Brew, cellar, transfer, filter, package beer according to SOP’s and scheduling
• Yeast management
• CIP processes
• Basic laboratory work
• Work as a cohesive and efficient team player
Qualification Requirements
• At least 2 years professional brewing experience
• Knowledge of all processes from grain to glass
• Proficiency in time management and record keeping
• Laboratory techniques (cell counting, DO meter, etc)
• Basic understanding of Excel, Gdrive, and other web based platforms
Working Conditions
• Lift 55 lbs. from the ground to shoulder
• Climb stairs, ramps, ladders
• Work in small and confined spaces
• Be able to stand on feet for extended periods of time
