JOB DESCRIPTION:
Billsburg Brewery is seeking candidates for the role of Head Brewer to join our team in Williamsburg Virginia.
JOB SUMMARY:
As the Head Brewer, you will be responsible for beer production and overall brewery operations for our 10-bbl brewing system. We are looking for a motivated, energetic, and passionate individual to assist in brewing operations. This position will report directly to the Brewmaster.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Operations of the brewery with regards to brewing, kegging, cleaning, and canning.
Record gravities, temperatures, and pH daily.
Ability to work well with other employees, breweries, public and media.
Manage maintenance and cleaning schedules.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Position requires standing for long periods of time, bending, stooping, twisting, and lifting products and materials weighing up to 165 pounds.
Routine pushing, pulling, reaching, upper body and arm rotation, arm extension, and climbing ladders.
High noise levels in and around brewing area
Exposure to various temperature changes
QUALIFICATIONS:
3-5 years experience in the brewing industry
Formal Brewing Education a plus but not required
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Highly organized with keen attention to detail
Focused problem-solver with the ability to stay calm and work under pressure
Comfortable with computers and technology
