RETAIL MANAGER and Social Media Maverick
This essential position is responsible for the day-to-day running of a retail*store and our social media content. This person is the lead singer of the band. Our good times guru. The main focus of the position is*to establish, stabilize, and always improve upon the performance of the retail store and to maintain a highly focused, active, and attention-grabbing social media presence. We will all be participating in beer festivals, beer dinners, and other events.
Duties and Essentials
Hours
Full-time and salaried position. The Retail Manager will normally work between 40 and 60 hours per week. The hours will include weekday evenings, and most weekends.
Qualifications and Requirements:
• Retail sales and/or management experience preferred.
• Leadership experience preferred.
• Demonstrate success in process improvement and initiative.
• Must be able to lift heavy things, maneuver ½ bbl kegs, and stand on feet for 8-10 hour shifts.
• TIPS training required for all managers and staff
• Ability to accurately and concisely describe beer flavors and characteristics to others
• Must be able to keep calm under pressure and communicate clearly, with composure, professionalism and enthusiasm, to customers and staff.
• Must thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
• May be good to have a passion for craft beer
Skills, Interests and Qualities
Knowledge & Skill Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years experience in Retail or Front of the House Management in the beverage industry or other relevant experience.
Must be self-motivated, have excellent written skills, strong internet and social media skills, verbal communication, strong leadership skills and be a minimum of 21 years of age.
Candidate must be able to work during high volume business hours in a fast-paced brewery tasting room and retail shop. This position also requires excellent time management skills as well as very strong problem solving skills. Candidates must be proficient in MS Office software including Excel and Word. We will all be learning how to use EKOS Brewmaster Brewery Management Software. Experience with EKOS is an added bonus but not required.
Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience as a Retail or Front of the House Manager. Preference given to applicants who have operated Retail Shops and/or Tasting Rooms in a brewery or other type with the beverage industry.

- Provide top level customer service including, but not limited to, selling beer, filling growlers, answering questions, greeting guests, providing tours, maintaining a clean and welcoming retail space, and offering an amazing experience at our brewery.
- Lead, manage and motivate a retail team to provide a great experience at our brewery
- Deal with queries, complaints and feedback from customers in a professional manner
- Oversee recruitment and training of front of the house staff
- Manage and maintain accuracy and functionality of point-of-sale system
- Oversee maintenance and cleanliness of draft equipment, with ability to troubleshoot
- Keep track of*inventory and order retail items to minimize loss and maximize profits
- Uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation of retail operations
- Manage retail schedule and coordinate off-site and in-house events
- Data analysis and preparation for participation in management meetings
- Staff development, team building, and continuing education
- Persistent consideration for process improvement and business development
- Work with Brewmaster and others to plan beer availability and allocations for retail
- Analyze sales figures and forecasting future sales volumes for inventory control
- Maintain awareness of market trends
- Control budgets and*costs, and provide reports to CEO and Brewmaster
- Provide content for our social media pages (FB, Twitter, Instagram, etc)
- With tact, create a social media personality that fits our company, branding and beers.
