    North Park Beer Company is seeking qualified applicants who are interested in the opportunity to manage the taproom of its soon to be completed pub and brewery. This is an excellent opportunity to help establish the company culture of one of the most anticipated brewery openings in Southern California.

    JOB PURPOSE:

    The Taproom Manager at NPBC will be focused on creating a beer-centric experience and providing friendly, knowledgeable, and responsive service that will create an exceptional patron experience. This position will supervise Assistant Taproom Managers, Bartenders, Taproom Servers, Janitorial, Door Security, and/or Bar Staff in their job duties. This position will also be responsible for managing Taproom customer satisfaction and the overall brewery visitor experience.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Maintain a welcoming, educational, exciting, and inviting experience for all guests. Monitor guest relations and serve as point person for guest complaints and/or special needs.
    • Provide excellent customer service to all guests, with the goal of engaging the guest in conversation, creating regulars, and maximizing the customer experience. Respond promptly and appropriately to all guest requests and concerns.
    • Educate all guests about the staple and seasonal brews available, the history and culture of the brewery and the craft beer industry, and the differences between styles. Maintain full knowledge of recipes and other pertinent information about staple and seasonal brews being served.
    • Constantly work to increase knowledge of craft beer and beverages, including attending training and meetings put on by brewery management and/or related craft beer associations and brewers.
    • Manage and coordinate staff schedules for Bartenders and/or Bar Staff.
    • Supervise Bartenders, Taproom Servers, and/or Bar Staff in performance of essential job functions, including ensuring staff follow sanitation requirements, cleanliness requirements, and company policy and procedures.
    • As needed, provide support to Bartenders, Taproom Servers, and/or Bar Staff in performance of essential job functions. Ensure staff has appropriate resources to complete essential job duties.
    • Manage brewery human resources objectives by selecting, orienting, training, coaching, and/or counseling Bartenders, Servers, and/or Bar Staff on job expectations and completion of essential job functions.
    • Analyze trends on visitors, events, beer, food, and merchandise.
    • Coordinate scheduling of onsite brewery vendors.
    • Participate and support creation of special events and promotions.
    • Complete various maintenance and repairs, and coordinate with General Manager or Manager on Duty on significant repair issues and needs.
    • Track and verify end-of-shift cash, credit card, and gratuity transactions for Bartenders and Servers.
    • Ensure proper and constant sanitation and cleanliness in the Tap Room and surrounding areas.
    • Manage inventory and participate in merchandise selection to forecast inventory needs and meet sales goals. Ensure consistent stocking of kegs, merchandise, and/or packaged products for sale to guests.
    • Learn to operate and train others to operate POS system.
    • Participate and support creation of checklists and standard operating procedures.
    • Follow checklists and standard operating procedures.
    • Maintain highest level of customer service and professionalism with guests, management, and co-workers.
    • Demonstrate flexibility in scheduling and assist as needed with ensuring all shifts are appropriately staffed.
    • Attend all staff meetings and proactively identify opportunities for improvement in Taproom operations.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.



    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Must be at least 21 years of age.
    • Prior work experience with bar/restaurant, brewery, winery, and/or retail experience.
    • Possess demonstrated leadership skills.
    • Possess basic math skills and the ability to handle money.
    • Possess or be able to obtain a food handler’s card and training on alcohol service.
    • Possess working knowledge of beer and craft beer industry.
    • Possess strong knowledge and enforcement of ABC laws.
    • Possess awareness of local, state, and federal health and sanitation laws.
    • Able to communicate effectively and be understood in English.
    • Able to lift heavy objects (25 – 50 lbs.) on a continual basis. Able to transport up to 160 lbs. (full kegs) with assistance. Able to stand, walk, lift, and bend for up to 8 hours per shift. Able to work in crowded and confined spaces.
    • Able to operate or able to quickly learn Point of Sale system.
    • Able to maintain excellent customer service and professional appearance suitable for guest interaction while working under pressure.

    COMPENSATION:

    Commensurate based on experience.
