Fearless Brewing Company is a 14 year old brewery located on the Clackamas River and at the foot of Mt. Hood National Forest in Estacada, Or. We recently installed a state of the art, 15bbl Metal Craft brew house. We are distributed in Oregon, Washington, Illinois and Western Canada and are in the process of expanding that foot print to several other states. We are looking for a person who is going to help us grow and take on increasing responsibility in managing the brewery. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to learn not only the brewing end of brewery operations but the business end as well.
We are looking for a skilled and energetic brewer who has a passion for craft beer. Fearless Brewing Company needs a lead brewer who has the experience to coordinate operations, supervise staff and perform needed tasks and planning to successfully run a brewery.
The ideal candidate will have at least 1-2 years professional brewing experience as well as a strong knowledge of brewing and fermentation science. Skills and experience should include brew house operations and QA/QC with ability to troubleshoot/solve process and production issues. Technical/mechanical expertise is necessary to maintain and tune equipment; packaging, refrigeration, material handling, forklift, etc. Related formal education is definitely beneficial, but does not replace actual commercial brewing experience. Business management experience is also a plus. The brewer may have opportunity to help us sell and market our product. Extra points given to candidates who are willing to live in Estacada. This is a really fun area in which to live-- stunning natural beauty, housing is much less expensive than Portland and lots of outdoor recreational opportunity.
The needs of the beer determine your schedule, so you must be able to work a flexible schedule, including early morning, evening, and weekend shifts. This position entails strenuous physical work, including lifting at least 75 pounds and moving at least 170 pounds, stooping, standing and climbing. You must be able to communicate effectively, document as needed, and work well with a team as well as independently.
Compensation is in market range, and is negotiable depending on skill and experience. Benefits are available. We are looking for someone who has a sense for business and can help us grow.
