Barebottle Brew Co. is seeking an Assistant brewer with the idea that they can transition into a Shift Brewer. This will be a full-time position working 6am-2pm Mon.-Fri. Starting pay will be hourly and based on experience.
Barebottle has been open for 5 months at 1525 Cortland Ave. in SF, CA. The system is 20 Bbl, 4 vessel, with mash rakes and a calandria in both the kettle and HLT. There are currently 6 40 Bbl FVs and 2 40 Bbl BTs. A brewing pad was poured to fit 24 tanks, and the glycol piping is already setup to receive another 5 tanks. During the past 5 months we have been brewing on average twice per week (44 batches currently). However sales have been picking up since we won a GABF bronze medal, and we anticipate increased sales as we bring on distributors. Thus we are interested in someone who can start doing a little bit of everything and as we grow transition into a more formal shift brewer/lead role.
To start the position would include:
• Maintaining a clean work space throughout the brewery and in our back parking area
• Working with the neighbors to ensure we have access to all applicable equipment, and coordinating deliveries with them as needed
• Daily operation of the forklift loading/unloading trucks and organizing pallets of materials as they arrive
• Operating the keg washer
• Helping to operate the mobile bottling line
• Racking off beer to kegs
• Brewing on the pilot system
• Milling in
• Graining Out
• CIP FVs
• Cellar Work
• Cleaning tap lines and training new server staff on how to clean tap lines
• Re-stocking the tap room cold box with beer as it is ordered
• Attending and participating in beer festivals and at work events
• Being an ambassador of the brand
• Contributing to a positive work environment through open and constructive dialog
• Contributing and being receptive to continual innovation and improvements
• Communicating issues and concerns as they arise with staff and management
Being able to lift 55#'s repeatedly above your head, and maneuver 165# kegs is required. Also some form of experience is required.
