Forklift Operator is responsible for the movement of material from inventory to production
and back to inventory. Maintains correct paperwork and production records are required.
This is a Full Time position.
Principal Duties / Responsibilities
• Provides production departments with material from inventory according to production
schedule
• Moves material in process from one station to another (if necessary).
• Bands, wraps and/or packs finished goods, and labels material.
• Moves finished goods from production area to finished goods inventory (yard or
warehouse).
• Assist production with bottle necks and other material needs.
• Provides general preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Completes pre-shift/startup equipment checklist and reports any problems or concerns.
• Maintains rough material and finished goods inventory yard organized and clean.
• Completes production records are required.
• Follows forklift rules and policies as described by Company policy.
• Participates in safety, CI and other programs and meetings.
• Performs other duties as required
• Help set up for weekly Tours and Tastings.
Skills and Abilities
• Ability to work in a safe manner
• Demonstrates ability to follow specific instructions and directions
• Demonstrate ability to stack material properly
• Ability to pay attention to surroundings
• Ability to identify safety issues in their work area, and notice equipment malfunctions
• Ability to understand basic verbal and written instructions in English; ability read and
write basic English
• Ability to frequently get on and off a forklift and operate a forklift for extended periods
of time
• Ability to work under immediate supervision
• Ability to work hours mandated by management
• Assists with inventory control by performing regular cycle counts.
• Accurately executes load sheets according to the prescribed procedure and records the
documentation of such
movements.
• Safely transports items to the production floor as needed.
• Organizes material in warehouse and ensures that items are properly labeled and stored
Shipping
• Works with logistics manager
• Works with logistics team to expedite the process of getting orders shipped on time.
• Picks and packs materials in suitable containers for shipment.
Receiving
• Safely unloads materials being delivered to facility off of trucks via forklift or other
appropriate means.
• Thoroughly inspects received parcel and freight packages for damage when they are
delivered. Notes any damage and communicates to supervisor prior to them leaving the
facility.
• Preps received material for storage in their stock location.
• Accurately receives incoming materials to appropriate location.
• Drive all forks, in proficient matter, and keep up with all production speeds
• Complete forklift safety inspection sheet.
• Ensure that all products have the correct tags and identification
• Identify, separate, and stack in correct area all products timely.
• Ensure that all items are stacked correctly on pallets and secured with stretch wrap.
• Housekeeping in warehouse area.
• Check and install all wheel block chocks before loading or entering any trailer.
• Loading trucks with proper stacking patterns and weight distribution.
• Perform all paperwork, loading, and receiving procedures as defined in the Standard
Operation Procedures (SOP)
Perform any other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager.
