We are adding a full time Lab Tech to our team at RRBC! The lab tech is responsible for contributing to the quality lab program which seeks to protect and elevate the Russian River brand at all times, with the highest commitment to quality. This position will be based at our new facility in Windsor.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Accurately analyzes in-process and finished products (sample analysis); appropriately escalates out of specification results/trends and initiates/suggests corrective action
Maintains product quality through adherence to good manufacturing practices, product specifications, and quality procedures; completes tasks thoroughly and accurately to ensure compliance with quality standards
Participates in production (brewing & packaging) processes, delivering superior internal customer service; isolates and contains product that does not meet quality standards
Maintains and operates standard brewing laboratory equipment by following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Write, update, and improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the lab
Assists in taking and analyzing in-process samples including: wort, fermenter, bright tank, bottle, and barrel
Records and interprets results
Manage yeast and micro-organisms between all facilities including assisting with yeast propagation and harvest and any microbiological culturing and identification methods
Utilizes and operate all current and future lab equipment/reagents to include: micropipettes, microscope, Cellometer, PCR, Alcolyzer, densitometer, haze meter, carbonation meter, UV/Vis Spectrophotometer, DO/TPO meters, shaker table, pH meter, laboratory centrifuge, Vortex mixer, sterile air hood, heating block, cell disrupter, autoclave, microbiological media, organic solvents, cleaning/sanitizing agents, corrosive acids and bases, and other hazardous laboratory chemicals, including some carcinogens
Assists in laboratory upkeep including: making media and stock solutions, cleaning, dish washing, autoclaving
Attends industry events and actively continues education in the industry
Ability and willingness to maintain flexible work schedules, as weekends are necessary
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no direct reports.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Operate and/or learn any other laboratory equipment not listed or purchased in the future
Principles and processes for providing excellent customer service and work quality; internal and external
Commitment to excellence and high standards
Ability to use standard office equipment, including MS Word and Excel; Obeer is a plus
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in microbiology, biology, chemistry, or related field is required
Minimum of 2 years in a previous lab tech position, ideally in craft beer
Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace
Commitment to excellence and high standards
Demonstrated ability to use common sense in decision making
Creative, flexible, and innovative team player
Passion, enthusiasm, focus, creativity, and a positive outlook
Professional appearance and demeanor
Must be at least 21 years old

While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to stand for long periods of time and walk; use fingers, handle, or feel objects; reach with hands; talk and hear; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, bend, twist and crouch. The employee must occasionally lift, carry, and/or move up to 25 pounds. Use of arms above or below the shoulder is sometimes required. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Requires manual dexterity and ability to quickly move hand(s), hand with arm, grasp, manipulate or assemble.
