About LA Ale Works
Los Angeles Ale Works is a brewer-owned and operated neighborhood brewery located in the Cradle of Aerospace, in Hawthorne, California. Starting with a scrappy group of homebrewers, we’ve built a collaborative culture of professional brewing that delivers balanced, independent beer.
Our diverse selection includes beers that drink easily, and we offer something for every palate. We craft a spectrum of styles on our 10 barrel system, including traditional beers from Germany, England, and Belgium, and of course modern American IPAs. Our recipes are enhanced with local foraged fruits, locally roasted coffee beans, exotic teas, and a little California flare.
Los Angeles Ale Works was a dream project founded in 2010 by Kristofor “Kip” Barnes. In 2013, LA Ale Works launched its first beers into the marketplace following a successful Kickstarter fundraiser. Working with Ohana Brewing, Los Angeles Ale Works tenant-brewed proof-of-concept beers to share with the Los Angeles market. In 2015, Kip teamed up with Andrew Fowler, and launched the first Hawthorne Craft Brewery in 2017 in a 10,000 sq/ft building, complete with an amazing outdoor patio and the support of the neighborhood.
