Small 10 bbl production brewery and taproom located in Southern NH looking to expand our small team. We are looking for a hard working individual who has a passion for beer and appreciates the work necessary to make great beer.
Position Requirements:
• Minimum of a High school diploma or equivalent required
• Professional brewing experience or successful completion of a professional brewing certificate program is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
• Fork lift certification a plus
• A discerning and educated palate for beer is preferred
• Availability to work 9-5p Mon-Fri (there is room for some flexibility in schedule)
• Ability to work occasional weekend or night shifts with advanced notice
Key Responsibilities include:
• Helping to maintain a clean, organized and safe production environment (e.g. scrubbing floors, miscellaneous cleaning around the brewery, removing trash, etc.)
• Cleaning of kegs, fermenters, brite tanks and brewhouse according to brewery’s standard operating procedures
• Packaging product, including kegging and assisting in canning and bottling
• Milling grain and cleaning spent grain containers
• Performing basic cellar operations including conducting gravity readings, pH testing, carbonation testing, temperature monitoring and dry-hopping
• Assisting with brews as needed
• Pulling and preparing shipments for distributors
• Receiving deliveries into the warehouse
• Occasionally delivering beer to local accounts
Additional Responsibilities may include:
• Representing the brewery at beer festivals
• Occasionally filling in tap room shifts and possible events
The Ideal Candidate will possess:
• Positive and friendly attitude
• Extreme attention to detail and organization
• Ability to clearly and effectively communicate with the production team both verbally and by maintaining brewery records
• Mechanical aptitude
• Open attitude to continual innovation, improvements and constructive criticism
• Diligence in adhering to Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safety and quality
• Effective and efficient time management capabilities
• Ability to work independently but also know when to seek guidance appropriately and as needed
Physical Requirements:
• Able to lift 55 lbs to shoulder height and lift 170 lbs with another person
• Capable of standing for extended periods of time
• Kneeling, crouching, bending, reaching in uncomfortable positions and for extended periods of time
• Comfortable working in a noisy, industrial environment with exposure to wetness and extreme hot and/or cold temperatures and potentially dangerous chemicals (e.g. strong caustics and acids)
Compensation/Perks:
• This is an entry level position, compensation will be based on experience
• Eligible to earn overtime compensation for over 40 hours worked in any given week
• Pay is weekly based on hours worked
• 1 week Paid Time Off after 90 day probation period
• Branded brewery clothing
• Admissions to limited entry beer and industry-only events
• Beer allotment
• Eligible for tips earned when working front of the house
