Trillium Brewing Company is an independent family-run craft brewery looking for an experienced Vice President of Sales to join our growing team! Teamwork, integrity, and a passion for producing high quality beer is what drives our company’s success. The Vice President of Sales is a full-time key leadership position that will work directly with owners to guide the tactical planning of the production and sales strategy across multiple locations. We are seeking an experienced, driven, and well-organized professional whose dedication and initiative will help propel Trillium to achieve its most important goals.
As Vice President of Sales, you collaborate across departments - driving sales strategy, guiding production planning, managing inventory across multiple locations, overseeing financial reporting, and ensuring exemplary hospitality through front of house operations. The Vice President of Sales is responsible for the overall direction and coordination of the business operations, sales, and customer service of our multiple locations. This individual will oversee multiple senior managers to execute operations across the broader team. This position is part of a fast-paced work environment with a 7-day business cycle. Your schedule will include regular time in the field overseeing operations at multiple locations in a 100-mile radius of each other, with a majority of their time spent at our corporate office in Canton. Our ideal candidate is self-motivated, ambitious, and has demonstrated success creating and executing successful sales strategy with an emphasis on the customer experience.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Fiscal Responsibility
Consistently achieve sales goals while operating within budget to contribute to overall profitability; ensure direct reports maintain fiscal discipline and operate within budgetary guidelines without sacrificing the customer experience
Establish high levels of quality, accuracy, and process consistency in planning, forecasting, and budgeting approaches used by the sales organization
Define performance measurements aligned with the organization’s financial obligations and strategic plan. Assure reporting, learning, and incentives are aligned to meet these objectives
Business Intelligence
Create and execute sales strategy including plans for the marketing, production, and operations teams
Demonstrate strategic business acumen with a keen focus on achieving and monitoring all field KPI’s and other key business drivers that directly impact revenue and the customer experience
Continuously and proactively analyze performance; develop and recommend action plans in support of revenue optimization
Ensure sales policies and procedures are developed, effectively implemented, and maintained to achieve organizational consistency and efficiency across and throughout the retail channels
Evaluate, recommend, and implement key business processes and workflows
Partner with the production and marketing groups to ensure operational readiness for all product launches
Ensure correct execution of marketing, operations, and event management guidelines
Leadership Management and Development
Oversee senior leaders to ensure efficient and profitable sales in the operations outlets, executed with exceptional hospitality
Retain, develop, and recruit senior leaders reflecting the company’s vision and values, with strong business understanding and commitment to achieving desired results
Lead by example - inspire, motivate, mentor, and educate the sales, operations, and marketing teams while collectively building a hospitality and retail service culture
Partner with Human Resources to address employee relations issues; identify appropriate training and/or coaching opportunities and follow-up to ensure effective and consistent resolutions are reached, complying with employment policies and procedures
Deliver clear performance expectations and performance evaluations with fair and timely feedback for growth and development
Support Senior Sales Manager and General Managers to identify and successfully implement opportunities for sales and process improvement
Drive a culture of continuous improvement and strive for operational excellence
Desired Qualifications and Abilities
Experience
Minimum of ten years of experience in a senior multi-site leadership role for physical product sales
Craft beverage industry experience is a strong plus
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Process and results driven leader with demonstrated success managing and achieving goals
Ability to monitor performance and proactively propose necessary modifications to a plan
Strong data analytics skills with applied critical rationale
Exceptional organizational skills, detail-oriented with process-oriented thinking
Strong capacity to both lead and participate in cross-functional teams to define issues and agree on processes, strategies, and outcomes
PC skills, specifically Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint); experience with Toast and/or Orchestrated Beer a plus
A self-motivated approach, with strong work ethic, requiring limited oversight
Impeccable leadership and communication skills to a variety of audiences
Ability to travel within a 100-mile radius
