    We are looking for an assistant brewer for our 20 BBL Pilot Brewery/Ale House. The right candidate will be outgoing and have excellent mechanical aptitude, be self-driven to get things done and have a very strong work ethic. We can teach you the skills to brew, but we cannot teach personal drive and the willingness to learn. The assistant brewer will take part in all aspects of the brewing process, from designing recipes to packaging the final product. You will be part of a small Pilot Brewery team that is responsible for the R & D of all new products put into full scale production as well as the development of innovation that will be served in house only. You will interact with customers, staff, handle tours, events/tastings on and off site/ occasional evenings and weekend availability is a must. We strive to maintain a fun environment, but a brewer must also help to set the tone with a high level of professional conduct, attitude, and responsible consumption.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Cellaring duties such as beer transfers, dry-hopping, carbonating, and CIP.
    • Packaging duties including occasional can runs as well as weekly keg filling.
    • Assist the Head Brewer on production days.
    • Complete necessary paperwork for all activities.
    • Maintain an extremely clean, safe, and orderly work area.
    • Basic light mechanical repairs to brewing equipment when necessary.

    REQUIREMENTS
    • At least 2 years of professional brewing experience.
    • Work effectively with the head brewer to meet production needs.
    • Multitask and manage time in a fast-paced environment.
    • Communicate well, both written and verbal.
    • Troubleshoot and solve equipment problems.
    • Work in a team environment.
    • Work independently with minimal direct supervision.
    • High school diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate). College degree preferred.
    • Must possess basic computer and math skills.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
    • Able to stand for long periods of time (up to 8-10 hours per day).
    • Able to lift materials up to 55 lbs. repeatedly.
    • Able to work in wet, tight or cramped spaces.
    • Able to work in an environment with high noise levels.
    • Able to work with hazardous chemicals safely.
    • Able to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (boots, gloves, apron, eye protection, etc.)
    • Exposure to hot fluids.
    • Exposure to pressurized vessels and transfer lines.
    • Exposure to particulate atmospheres.
    • Exposure to variable temperature levels.
    • Wet, slippery floors.
    • Wet clothing.
    • Exposure to carbon dioxide.
    • Performing job with and around moving machinery.

    This is a full time position with benefits. Pay commensurate with experience.
