Stickmen Brewing Company, an innovative brewery with two Portland Metro locations (brew pub and production brewery) is seeking a sales manager with prior craft beer industry experience for the territory that currently includes Oregon, Bay Area of California, and SW Washington.
Job Description
Tactical
• Manage and assists distributor partner in promoting sales of the products and building consumer acceptance.
• Conduct sales for on-premise and off-premise accounts in a specified territory.
• Organize and conduct on-premise tastings, beer-dinners, tap takeovers, and other relevant account support activities.
• Organize and conduct off-premise tastings.
• Regularly monitor shelf-placement in off-premise locations.
• Ensure (in conjunction with distributor) that accounts have proper beer supply, tap handles, and related support collateral.
• Deliver (or enlist help for delivering) beer, invoices, tap handles, and related support collateral in one-off scenarios as needed.
• Keep Ekos CRM system up-to-date with latest account interactions.
• Maintain good customer relations.
• Conduct account training (inclusive of server training) and education as needed.
• Assist in quarterly planning of sales goals and objectives.
• Set annual sales goals and objectives for distribution partners.
• Collect and maintain metrics, relevant account data.
• Suggest new promotional ideas in territory.
• Work with ownership to identify new territories and distribution partners.
Ambassador
• Be the primary point of contact for customers and distributor partners.
• As the face of the brewery, sales teams have a unique responsibility to be professional, always represent the brewery in the best light, and take care of our customers.
• Be responsible for creating a successful relationship with Stickmen’s distribution partners and solidifying Stickmen as a top craft brand option.
Quality
• Be responsible for maintaining top-quality Stickmen product in its territories. This includes but is not limited to off-premise and on-premise market audits and regular communication with the brewery team to ensure product quality.
• Be responsible for providing the highest-quality service and craft beer knowledge to position Stickmen as the go-to resource for customers and distributor partners.
Required Skills/Expectations
• Previous sales experience
• Strong craft beer knowledge and experience in the local marketplace.
• Highly Motivated
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to work alone.
• General knowledge of the brewing process.
• General knowledge of craft beer competitors, market share and product offerings.
• Strong communication skills including mastery of the selling skills process.
• Computer competence in Word, Excel, Ekos, and E-mail.
• Ability to complete Stickmen’s minimal administrative requirements on time regularly including weekly activity reports, expense reports, monthly recaps, monthly calendar, budget management, and daily interaction.
• Knowledge of distributor operations and how to work with distributors.
• Must have a reliable vehicle and a clean driving record.
• Be accountable for your actions.
• Make decisions for your role while keeping everybody informed and accepting input.
• Support your colleagues and management at all times.
• Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 170 lbs.
• The ability to travel via car on a regular basis.
