We are willing to pay up to $24 per hour for a skilled and energetic brewer who has a passion for craft beer and would thrive in our rugged, rural environment. If river rafting, hiking, skiing, fishing or other outdoor sports are things you enjoy after a great day in the brewery, then perhaps we are the place for you. Our brewery is located in Estacada, Oregon, at the base of the Mt. Hood National Forest and only feet from the beautiful Clackamas River. Yet, we are within 25 miles of Beervana,(about 35 miles to downtown) otherwise known as Portland, Oregon. Imagine living AND WORKING in such a beautiful place!
We are seeking a skilled, trained and experienced brewer to run our brew house. We are an established brewery with a strong brand presence in Portland and a growing market in Oregon, Washington, Canada and Illinois.
We installed a new Metal Craft 15 barrel brew house in 2015, which will bring us to 2000 barrel capacity and more if we add a couple of extra tanks. We are not a large brewery, which may be appealing to the right person. There are plenty of line brewer jobs in Portland, where you will be doing the same thing day after day. But if you are interested in involvement with the entire business of brewing, then this may be the job you are seeking.
The ideal candidate will have professional brewing experience as well as a strong knowledge of brewing and fermentation science. Skills and experience should include 2 years of full responsibility commercial brewing experience, brew house operations, and QA/QC with ability to troubleshoot/solve process and production issues. Related formal education is definitely beneficial but does not replace actual commercial brewing experience.
The needs of the beer determine your schedule, so you must be able to work a varying schedule, including early morning, evening, and weekend shifts. This position entails strenuous physical work, including lifting at least 75 pounds and moving at least 170 pounds, stooping, standing and climbing. You must be able to communicate effectively, document as needed, and work well with a team as well as independently.
Compensation is definitely within market and is somewhat negotiable depending on skills that you bring to the business. Benefits are included.
