White Street Brewing Co is growing and looking for an enthusiastic, qualified Head Brewer to join our award-winning team! This person will brew on our 30 bbl production brewhouse as well as on our 10 bbl taproom brewhouse. White Street Brewing has built a reputation for consistent, quality craftsmanship. Duties and Responsibilities
• Independently operate brew house: wort production, fermentation preparation, CIP procedures, quality control and production record keeping.
• Create, maintain and implement SOPs
• Guide, train and direct brewing and cellar staff
• Strive for constant improvement in procedure
• Guide, implement and oversee QA and QC efforts
• Perform sensory and quantitative analysis of all beers in production
• Oversee and guide CIP procedures
• Manage Inventory levels for ingredients and finished beer
• Maintain production schedule
• Create new recipes for taproom batches and special releases
• Guide and oversee yeast handling, storage and propagation
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Experience and comfort in all aspects of production brewing
• 3+ years of production brewing experience (formal education a plus)
• Ability to manage all day to day aspects of a production brewery
• Unwavering positive attitude and commitment to making the highest quality beer
• Advanced knowledge of the science of brewing
• Exceptional verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to efficiently manage competing priorities throughout the day
• Ability to recognize maintenance issues.
• Working knowledge of raw materials and beer recipe design
• Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule
• Computer proficiency
• Have strong organizational habits and a self-motivated work ethic
• Have good critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Desire to be a source of knowledge and inspiration to those you work with.
