Taproom Manager
Pitt Street Brewing Co. in Greenville, North Carolina is looking for the perfect person to head up our Taproom Team. This person must be able to enthusiastically manage a fun and diverse team of servers and consistently provide exceptional customer service to everyone.
Job Summary: The taproom manager reports to the General Manager and is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the planning, organizing, training and leadership necessary to achieve our guest service goals in the taproom, at festivals and other events.
The ideal candidate will channel the passion we put into our beer into a memorable taproom experience for our guests. The candidate must be customer-focused, experienced in a restaurant/bar/taproom environment, and have exceptional interpersonal, management, and organizational skills. We’re interested in talking to candidates who are excited about the opportunity to be involved in the ground level of a new and growing business, wearing many hats. These hats include managing the taproom; managing our social media; managing our back and front office systems; recruiting, training, managing, and motivating taproom staff; planning and leading special taproom events; and serving as an ambassador for the Pitt Street Brewing Brand. And, of course, someone who knows and loves craft beer as much as we do!
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Primary responsibility of managing all taproom activities
Supervise all employees working in the taproom
Recruiting, hiring, orienting, training, scheduling staff
Oversee and manage on-site special events, including private events and tours, concerts/music, and other promotional events to include calendar, promotion, setup, staffing, and execution
Oversee and manage our social media
Maintain an employee-friendly and positive work environment, ensuring all workplace rules are understood and followed
Maintain safe, secure facility environment
Update and maintain POS terminals
Maintain highest levels of customer satisfaction
Ensure that all guests are given responsive, friendly and courteous service at all times
Order merchandise and maintain inventory levels that are appropriate and accurate
Comply with all federal, state, county and municipal regulations
Insure all areas are kept spotless including restrooms & common areas
Control cash and receipts by adhering to cash handling and reconciliation procedures
Fill in where needed to ensure guest service standards are met
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s Degree in management or a business-related field preferred.
Three to five years of prior management experience preferred.
Must be 21 years or older
Event Management experience
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong multitasking skills
Strong customer service and management skills
Knowledge of beer and brewing process preferred
Team player with strong leadership skills
Knowledge of P&L, budgeting, sales goals and forecasting
Basic math skills and ability to use a POS system.
Must be accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
Able to work a minimum of 45 hours per week; able to work flexible hours including working nights, weekends, and holidays to manage and train effectively
Must be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time and be able to lift up to 50 pounds
Working Conditions
This position requires an individual who works under a range of circumstances, including: shift work, weekend work, working with challenging patrons, working in the fast-paced environment of a crowded taproom, and working within close proximity of an operating brewery (noise, heavy equipment, odors related to the brewing process).
