Ghostfish Brewing Company, an award-winning brewery located in the heart of Seattle, WA, is seeking a full time Packaging Lead Person. Ghostfish is a growing company which operates a 15bbl brewhouse in the SODO neighborhood of Seattle, working exclusively with alternative grains such as millet, rice, and buckwheat.
Summary of job position: The Packaging Lead Person will be responsible for performing all Packaging / Shipping operations including, but not limited to, operating 6 heads canning line, Preform carbonation check, tank CIP and inventory in accordance with company SOP’s. Cellar work if needed
JOB DESCRIPTION
Packaging Lead is responsible for all aspects of processes related to packaging, conditioning, shipping, house keeping, carbonation, and any other processes required to achieve a final product ready for packaging. This employee must be a hardworking, responsible, and self-motivated individual with a passion for craft beer and a desire to continue learning and growing within the industry. The candidate should also be a sociable person who is comfortable occasionally representing the brewery in public.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Operate a 6 head Codi canning line
• Maintain Canning line and racking efficiencies to be consistently above 75%
• Supervise canning line production
• Maintain weekly communication with Sales team and Distributers contacts for weekly shipments
• Work with Brewing Team to reduce beer loss as well as consistent canning efficiency and product consistency
• Preform hourly CO2, O2 and Seamer measurements and record accurately
• CIP the canning line, fermentation tanks, and other equipment
• Logging of all brewing related notes from brew days through fermentation and packaging (canning)(kegs)
• Following SOP in each phase of brewing, fermentation, packaging and CIP
• Execute preventative maintenance on the canning line and cellar equipment
• Enter all packaging data into OrchestratedBeer database
• Coordinate with QA and QC for checks on all packaged product
• Ensured daily, weekly and monthly production records are filled out completely and accurately
• Responsible for consistent communications with Head Brewer and Sale departments
REQUIREMENTS
• A strong passion for brewing and a desire to advance personal growth in the brewing industry
• Strong organizational habits
• Motivated work ethic, and good critical thinking/problem solving skills
• Some understanding of all aspects of brewing including cellaring, yeast handling, CIP, and sanitization
• Flexibility in terms of hours and a willingness to work night shifts, weekends, and overtime
• Computer literate with an understanding of Microsoft Office/spreadsheet programs
• Ability to multi-task
• Ability to work as part of a team
EXPERIENCE IN ANY OF THE FOLLOWING IS PREFERABLE
• Prior packaging, bottling, and racking experience
• Mechanical experience and aptitude
• Forklift operation

• Ability to work safely with potentially hazardous chemicals
• Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
