I am a yearly CBC goer but this year was some big coin to stay in DC. I see they are still not sold out yet. Hopefully they will find a place that is a bit less costly next year

The DC Metro is a dumpster fire from when I lived there, but consider staying a little ways away and either walking/taking bus/taking Metro to the Convention Center. Just avoid the "bargain" places on New York Avenue headed east, which usually rent rooms in 30 minute intervals.Kevin Shertz

It's in Nashville in 2018. So good luck with lower hotel prices - better start looking now. At least it is in the middle of the week again.
