The State of CT is considering changing its laws that prohibit the sale of booze on Sundays. I previously didnt care one way or the other, but the more I see and hear Im not sure where I stand on this.
I am currently in a brew pub that cannot fill growlers on Sundays because the state does not allow Sunday beer sales. Our law is tied to the liquor store hours. If they are open, we can sell. If not, we cant. There is now debate to reverse said law because it is old and doesnt fit its prior need.
I was in Rhode Island when liquor stores were finally able to sell on Sundays, but the brew pub growler law came in to effect after that so I have no place that Im familiar with to do research.
I am wondering if anyone else has been in the same situation and if you saw an increase/decrease/no change to your beer sales numbers and/or growler sales. Do those extra few growlers sold late Sat night just get bought on Sunday or not at all? etc. Thanks.
