Experienced Brewer - Throwback Brewery - North Hampton, NH

Throwback Brewery, a farm-to-table brewpub located on a 12-acre farm on the Seacoast of NH, is searching for a full-time, experienced brewer. The ideal candidate will be excited about working for a small business that is focused on sustainability and is committed to using local ingredients and malt from the Northeast Grainshed.

This position will be centered around the end-to-end process of making and packaging beer, including cleaning, wort production, yeast propagation, documentation, measuring, fermentation, bottling, canning, kegging, lab work, and sensory. Some administrative work, like inventory and ordering, may be required. The candidate may also need to interface with customers through tours of the brewery, beer fests, tastings, and other brewery-focused events.

Overall Requirements

• Experience in a production brewery as a brewer is required.
• A great attention to detail and focus on quality.
• Solid problem-solving skills, including the ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical problems.
• Self-motivation. After the appropriate amount of training, must be able to dive in without a lot of direction.
• Interest and/or knowledge of working in a laboratory setting a plus.
• You have to be nice. And, ideally, you don’t take yourself too seriously! We are a small team with no room for big egos. 

Physical Requirements

• Ability to frequently lift 50 pounds and occasionally move up to 150 pounds safely.
• Must be able to bend over, twist, kneel, climb stairs, stand for the duration of the shift, shovel hot grain, handle hot and cold liquids.
• Must be able to work in a non-temperature controlled environment (including wet and cold conditions), properly handle hazardous materials, and operate complex machinery.
