New Maritime Beer Company, located in Beautiful Miramichi, New Brunswick is seeking a lead brewer.
We are a steadily growing brewery and have been open for 2.5 years. We are the only microbrewery in our city and have a great reputation both locally and provincially for making excellent products with a focus on quality.
ABOUT US:
We pride ourselves on producing high-quality, well-executed, and creative beers. Over the past years, we have built a respectable reputation provincially in the craft beer community and are expanding, all here in the beautiful city of Miramichi, New Brunswick. Our facility encompasses about 6,000 sq ft of space for our brewery, lab, and beautifully curated tasting room. We constantly look to push ourselves when it comes to innovation, quality standards, efficiency, and stability methods. We have had the privilege to pour our beers at some of the most prestigious beer festivals around the globe and were also awarded gold medals in the European Beer Challenge.
THE BREWERY:
We have a custom built semi-automatic 15bbl, 3-vessel brewhouse. The cellar comprises of four 35BBL tanks and a 30BBL bright tank and looking to add more as we grow. We also have a twin head keg washer, single head keg filler, and a small but growing laboratory.
Miramichi:
The Miramichi is an excellent choice to live and work. For young people, families and those looking for a life change, the Miramichi is a welcome new home.
You will find a regional hospital, community college, university programs, multiple parks for walking/ biking and many four-season activity opportunities. For a summer outing, warm beaches are not far, and in winter, 25 kilometers of groomed cross-country skiing trails are within the City of Miramichi. The Miramichi River, a world-class salmon fishing river, is always only minutes away and often just out your window.
Residents enjoy one of the lowest cost of living environments in the country and minimal commute to work times. We only need a weather report, no traffic report is necessary!
YOU:
We are seeking a Lead Brewer with self-management skills, someone who is averse to cutting corners, accountable, reliable, and takes immense pride in the work they produce. The ideal candidate will display a great professional demeanor towards work, meticulous attention to detail, maximize productivity, and un-paralleled passion for efficiency. This person will be responsible for daily production, cellaring, supervising packaging, maintaining ingredient inventory, and ensuring quality standards are met. The Lead Brewer will work in collaboration with our General & Operations Manager and the team to lead the brand's current portfolio and display their creativity. The ideal Lead Brewer would have at least two years of experience in both a production facility and in a leadership role or a formal education in brewing/distilling science.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
To perform this job effectively, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations will be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
• Must have the ability to frequently lift and/or maneuver 55 pound bags and move 160 lbs kegs.
