    BREWER OR BREWERS ASSISTANT

    Rutland Beer Works is an independently owned and operated brewery located in downtown Rutland, VT. What began as a small brewpub has grown into a larger, production focused operation producing around 3,000bbl/year. Our beers are distributed throughout the state of Vermont and our presence is actively growing.


    Our team of brewers is looking to add someone to the crew who is ambitious, hardworking, team oriented, and passionate about craft beverages. The ideal candidate would have 1-2 years of commercial brewing experience, or even a background in packaging seeking to learn the brewing side. Formal brewing education is a plus, but we will happily train the right candidate. There are plenty of opportunities for growth here!


    This position covers all aspects of beer production in a dedicated brewing facility. We run a single shift with a small cohesive team. Production is typically M-F, first shift, and approximately 42-44 hours/week. Nights and weekends may be required for a limited number of festivals and tastings.


    Job Responsibilities:

    -following production schedule to produce necessary brews, including brewing, cellar work, kegging, and canning

    -maintain cleanliness of facility, equipment, and working spaces

    -organizing the warehouse & beer shipments

    -quality control checks including pH, gravity, DO, record keeping, carbonation, temperature

    -participate in sensory testing/periodic quality reviews

    -be able to lift up to 60 pounds overhead, and maneuver full kegs safely

    -ability to work independently and multi task

    -use of various production tools including ladders, chemicals, forklift

    -work in a hot/cold/wet environment
