At Buffbrew, we live or die by the quality of our liquid. Quality guides every single decision we make.
We drive towards technical perfection every day, and take pride in doing all the little things right. Consistent efforts drive consistent results, and the Quality Manager is the person whose relentless focus on process integrity helps the team make sure that every damn drop of liquid we make exceeds our quality standards.
This role starts in the lab, where we gather more than 10,000 data points per batch, yet the action is on the floor, where you’ll communicate your findings and translate them into process improvements. You’ll analyze every aspect of the liquid at every point of the product life cycle, sounding the alarm when something needs attention, and leading the resolution process.
While this role is exceptionally demanding on the analytical side, it also requires a commensurate ability to communicate, align & lead. Often times, getting to the right answer is only the first half of the solution; getting folks to align and adopt change requires great communication and inter-personal skills. This role collaborates with folks at all levels of the organization, and the toughest part of the job is knowing when to push the gas and when to pump the brakes.
Since we are still in high growth mode, and only 12 months into our new facility, this role is significantly more entrepreneurial than being a Quality Manager at a more established or less creative brewery. We’re constantly trying new things and breaking stuff. Nimble thinkers with big energy tend to do well here, and this role in particular requires a generative, growth mindset with an empirical approach to creativity.
The Quality Manager reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer, and will work on projects that touch all topics within the department, collaborating with everyone in the department and many folks from other departments. Quality is central to literally everything we do, and this role requires someone with the ability to relate to all teammates so they can gather intel from many sources, and build trust to then leverage when it’s crisis time.
Thank you in advance for your patience as we often receive a glut of applications and get overwhelmed as humans do. Thank you for understanding. We will not be reviewing applications submitted after 5pm Monday, Feb 22nd, and will be interviewing folks in the order in which they’ve submitted their application.
Pro Tip: we are old school and appreciate a good cover letter in addition to thoughtfully written resumes. Tell us what we may not get from quickly scanning your resume, and why you’d be a great fit! The Humans you want to be working with are reading your app, not robots.
