The General Manager (GM) is required to hire, train, schedule and supervise Front-of-House (FOH) staff such as greeters, servers and bar staff. They keep track of the safety of staff and guests, as well as the safety and cleanliness of the facility by promptly addressing any and all issues that arise. The GM is available throughout the week and may be required to deal with issues at any time. The ideal candidate would possess excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills, as they will constantly interface with our guests and staff. They also coordinate with other department heads in our kitchen, accounting, sales and marketing to name a few.

The ideal candidate enjoys supervising and directing a sizable team and thrives in an extremely fast-paced and physically demanding work environment. They should have a high attention to detail with impeccable organization skills. Leading by example, the GM demonstrates a strong work ethic with unwavering consistency. The GM may also be required to perform the job duties of any of the FOH roles at any time, and they should do so with the highest ability.

Applicants should be highly motivated and adaptable with the ability to take initiative and get things done quickly. They will demonstrate innovative planning and problem-solving skills, showing a strong resolve as our business continues to grow. They should be a self-starter who will successfully formulate and implement strategies that will improve procedures and conditions well into the future.

Finally, the GM must be approachable, friendly, outgoing, and maintain a clean and tidy appearance. They will take the lead and provide stellar customer service as well as rock-solid support for staff.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum 3+ years experience working in the craft beer, restaurant, hospitality, and/or similar industry.
  • Minimum 2+ years experience in a similar supervisory/management role.
  • Minimum 1+ years experience working in a large-scale/high-volume service environment.
  • Has some knowledge of craft beer; brewing, packaging, and other production processes, as well as draft beer system functionality and maintenance.
  • Has experience with Google Suite - especially Docs and Sheets.
  • Has experience with common Android devices and P.O.S systems
RESPONSIBILITIES (include, but are not limited to):

Organization
  • Keep a well-updated personal task log in order to orchestrate the general flow of weekly and daily service operations.
Staff
  • Provide FOH staff with structure and set consistent expectations: outline shift requirements, delegate tasks, and keep things moving with additional projects like cleaning, organization, and other side-work.
  • Write schedules with labor budgets. Set budget targets and consistently meet them. Manage your budget by adjusting hours in real-time but ensure that there is consistent coverage to meet the highest level of customer service.
  • Work closely with the Assistant Manager and delegate important and specialized tasks and projects.
  • Regularly conduct FOH staff meetings to communicate goals and initiatives while also taking additional opportunities to promote education and positive growth in the workplace.
  • Identify individual staff strengths and goals, planning a course for their development, and promoting transition within the company when appropriate.
  • Promptly address any and all issues with staff, providing a corrective course of action plan to improve work performance when necessary.
  • Terminate under-performing staff when necessary.
  • Stay in constant contact with Management - relaying customer and staff feedback while maintaining personal ownership and accountability for the overall functionality of the FOH and its staff.
Vendors/Partners/Supplies/Maintenance
  • Work closely with on-site, third-party partners. Maintain good rapport while addressing any issues that may arise.
  • Work with representatives and support staff from software partners in implementing and/or troubleshooting P.O.S.
  • Work with vendors and technicians to keep supplies, utilities, and equipment clean, organized, and well-maintained.
  • Coordinate supply flow by implementing a plan that maintains consistent storage levels in backstock areas while balancing budgeting and facility/staff requirements/needs.
Payroll/Cash Accountability
  • Maintain excellent record-keeping habits when recording all cash movements.
  • Consistently balance cash drawers and safe totals without discrepancies.
  • Handle basic credit card and cash transactions as well as advanced transactions like refunds, returns, exchanges, or customer discrepancies with P.O.S payment support.
  • Work with the accountant to address and resolve any issues.
Retail/Inventory
  • Plan and coordinate efforts to grow the in-store retail operations.
  • Plan and execute a strategy to keep all non-alcoholic beverage and food items sold fully-stocked and well-supplied on a weekly basis.
  • Maintain all signage and messaging displayed to guests and continue the development of bar programs and design.
  • Design, refine, and update menus for use in the Tasting Room and Restaurant.
  • Keep Point of Sale systems and eCommerce platforms up to date with accurate pricing information, planning and implementing pricing and sales strategies each time a new product is released.
Facility
  • Ensure that facility conditions are kept in the highest order possible. Promptly address any damage or safety concerns.
  • Implement a strategy to keep all customer areas well-maintained.
  • Implement a strategy to keep all staff areas well-maintained.
  • Conduct regular cleaning and maintenance on equipment.
  • Keep up-to-date with latest COVID-19 related health orders, ensuring that our business is 100% compliant at all times.
  • Coordinate with local law enforcement, PLCB, and health officers arriving on-site with the ability to provide them with any and all information needed for check-ins, audits, etc.
This is a full-time, salary position; night and weekend shifts are mandatory. All candidates must have open availability and flexibility with hours and scheduling.
