Job Summary
The Beer Product Developer will manage coordination of tasks for Boston Brewery R&D projects from the ideation through transition stages. R&D projects may include new beer development and/or modifying existing beers based on general or specific input from Sales, Marketing, Brewing, Quality and/or Procurement as needed. This person will be responsible for collecting ideas and data to innovate new and exciting products for Boston Beer. The beer product developer will be responsible for pushing the boundaries of current product lines and generating team excitement around new ideas.
Responsibilities will include conducting research around new beers, including testing new ingredients, process techniques and packaging technologies, developing and maintaining beer specifications and creating standard operating procedures for beer formulation and process. The product developer will build and manage timelines, and work with capacity planning to schedule 10bbl and nano brews.. This person will need to be able to work on cross-functional teams to direct development outcomes, and manage on-time delivery of new beers to market. This role also collaborates with Legal to ensure compliance to applicable government regulations and maintain a thorough understanding of US food labeling laws and regulations.
Education & Experience
Bachelor of Sciences degree required, preferably in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, Fermentation Science or other life sciences
We're looking for 3-5 years of related industry experience. Must demonstrate ability to manage projects and communicate with a variety of stakeholders
Previous Project Management experience strongly preferred
