Packaging Technician in Baltimore
We seek to add a Packaging Technician to our team.
The Packaging Technician is responsible for the set-up, sanitation, changeover, operation, troubleshooting and shutdown of our Pasteurizer, Bottle Filler and Labeler. The Packaging Technician is also responsible for set-up, sanitation, changeover, operation, troubleshooting and shutdown of all ancillary packaging equipment, such as box shop equipment, glass de-palletizer, case sealer and palletizer. Further, the Packaging Technician will support the packaging operation as needed, including supplying materials to various equipment stations, finished goods transfer to warehouse, and removal of discarded materials.
Job Duties:
• Safe operation of assigned equipment.
• Set up all lines from bright tanks to Pasteurizer and filler.
• Properly sanitize and prepare line for operation.
• Safe operation of forklift.
• Perform bottle size changeover as needed.
• Monitor the operation of equipment throughout production.
• Make necessary adjustments to meet all quality control levels.
• Perform preventative maintenance as scheduled.
• Actively seek out problems and malfunctions and take corrective action.
• Shutdown and properly clean machinery and prepare for next production run.
Job Requirements:
High School Diploma required. Associates Degree or greater in a technology-related field is preferred. Experience in Industrial Maintenance or Manufacturing associated with equipment setup and operation, preferably in a packaging operation. Demonstrated ability to quickly and accurately solve problems. Work safely and effectively to accomplish assigned tasks.
Special Skills:
Team player with demonstrated leadership skills, high degree of initiative and flexibility, with the ability to effectively prioritize work. Excellent time management and communication skills and demonstrated attention to detail required. Demonstrated excellent troubleshooting ability, working knowledge of tools, and of packaging processes/machinery; demonstrated capability to address mechanical and equipment issues across all packaging/accessories lines. PLC familiarity, understanding of electronics, and basic computer skills preferred.
