  • gas usage/therms per batch for 3bbl nano?

    Hi guys,

Anyone have any ballpark sort of estimate on what I could potentially use per 3 bbl batch heating with natural gas/direct fire?
Just curious if anyone out there has a similar size system or could provide me with a way to estimate.
    thanks

    Therms

A therm is 100,000 btu or about 100 cu. ft. of natural gas. What size are your burners? If they were 400kBTU/hr then you would burn 4 therms/hr of use. Take a typical batch time of 1.5 hrs on the kettle for heating and boiling thats 6 therms per brew. Not including hlt heating, but the same formulas apply.
